At-home whitening involves creating a custom-made tray, one that fits you mouth comfortably. We then prescribe a bleaching gel. Each day, the patient fills the trays with gel and wears them for a set amount of time, usually between 30 and 45 minutes. Over the course of a week to ten days, the gel and trays remove discoloration and could potentially brighten your smile by multiple shades.
Keeping Your Teeth Brighter
Following treatment, you’ll be curious about keeping these new results. First, the trays and remaining gel are yours to keep so you can use them for touch-ups down the road. Other ways to help your results last longer include daily brushing and flossing, cutting back on soda and sugary drinks, and avoiding foods/drinks with dark pigments (such as coffee or tea).
