Community Events in Astoria, NY
- An Evening of Strange Animation: On February 1st Cinema Under the Influence will be presenting An Evening of Strange Animation. Admission is free and the event is from 9pm until 11pm. The Flushing Remonstrance will place original accompaniment to a number short animations from David Lynch, Salvatore Dali, Deanna Morse, and more. You can also enjoy the premiere of an original score for a short by Queens animator Tristian Goik. The venue hosting the event will be The Let Love Inn on 27-20 23 Avenue.
- Intro to Pottery Wheel: From now until March 10th you can take part in an Intro to Pottery Wheel course at AlterWork Studios on 30-09 35th Avenue. The course is $375 and incudes all the materials you need to get started. Each class takes place on Saturday from 1pm until 3pm.
- American Music Legacy: The Steinway Bran Library (21-45 31st Street) will be presenting American Music Legacy on February 3rd from 2pm until 3pm. Admission is free and the event highlights great American music by Cole Porter, Irving Berlin, Victor Herbert, Jerome Kern, and more.
