Spring is finally here! Now that we’re finally leaving winter behind, why not see what is happening in your community? There are a lot of fun and unique events taking place in Astoria this month. - Press Conference Comedy Show: On April 13th from 7:30pm until 9pm, you can see the Press Conference Comedy show at 27-16 23rd Avenue. Hosted by Kevin Froleiks and Sam Bourne, the show features a number of talented New York comedians giving a short set and then inviting the audience to ask questions about their jokes, their lives, anything. The lineup will include Mark Reiss, Patrick J Reilly, Emily Winter, Calvin Cato, and Cathy Humes. Line up subject to change.
- Stitchin Queens Bi-Weekly Meeting: Interested in learning more about knitting, crocheting, and needlepoint? Then you attend the Stitchin’ Queens Biweekly Meeting at the Panera Bread on 38-01 35th Avenue. They meet from 6:30pm until 8:30pm. The next meeting will be April 5th. To RSVP, email [email protected] . You can practice your craft, learn new skills, and socialize with other crafters.
- Go Ricki: QED Astoria will be hosting Go Ricki! On April 13th from 9pm until 10:30pm at 27-16 23rd Avenue. Matt Smith McCormick will host the show, which features comedians making sets or scenes based on the insane topics of the Ricki Lake Show. While the lineup is subject to change, comedians schedule to perform include Drew Anderson, Carolyn Bergeir, Sam Grittner, Liz Magee, and Dick Satori.
- Catholic/Christian Professionals Friendly Feud Fundraiser: The Catholic Fellowship of NYC will be hosting a Family Feud fundraiser at The Playwright Irish Pub on 27 West 35th Street on April 27th from 6:30pm until 8:30pm.
