In March, there will comedy shows, new plays, and even opportunities to watch Jamaica’s National Dance Company perform. March Events
- Happy Place Comedy Showcase: QED Astoria presents Happy Place Comedy Showcase on March 16th from 9pm until 10:30pm. QED is located at 27-16 23rd Avenue. You can visit qedastoria.com for more details. The show will feature a light, fun comedy show featuring established and upcoming comics. The show is hosted by Sue Funke and Katie Compa. Tonight’s lineup includes Alex Ptak, Alexis Guerreros, Marc Gerber, Jenn Welch, Becca Steinhoff, and Sharron Paul. A great way to escape from your hectic week for a few hours!
- Some Night: The Ophelia Theatre Group will be presenting Some Night by Sarah Victoria Bennett (Directed by Eric Ruiter) on March 17th and 18th at 8pm and March 19th at 6pm. The theatre is located at 21-12 30th Road in Astoria. Admission is $18 and the Sunday performance is pay what you can! You can call 951-285-6467 for more details.
- National Dance Theatre Company of Jamaica: The Brooklyn Center for Performing Arts will be hosting the National Dance Theatre Company of Jamaica on March 18th at 8pm and on March 19th from 3pm until 5pm. Admission ranges from $40 to $75. The company will be celebrating their 55th anniversary with a performance that combines folklore, music, and dance to celebrate West Indian culture.
