August Events in Astoria, NY
- Seinfeldian Ethics: On August 10th at 7:30pm QED will be hosting a panel conversation on the ethical decision making processes of the cast of Seinfeld. Panelists will include Josh Gondelman of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, Jennifer Armstrong of Seinfeildia, and Alex Curely, Senior D.C. Field Correspondent. Admission is $6.
- Dance Matters Summer Intensive: From now until August 19th Spaceworks LIC (33-02 Skillman Avenue LIC) will be hosting the Dance Matters Summer Intensive. The intensive costs $198. - Central Astoria Concerts on the Waterfront: On August 11th Central Astoria LDC will be hosting The Women of Rock. Jill Gioia and her band cover a variety of great female musicians, including Janis Joplin, Pat Benatar, Katy Perry, Stevie Nicks, Kelly Clarkson, and more. Admission is free and the show lasts from 7:30pm until 9:00pm. The show takes place on the Astoria Park Great Lawn at Shore Boulevard between Hell Gate Bridge and the playground Astoria. - Taiwan: A World of Orchids: This three-day event takes place from Friday, August 12th until Sunday, August 14th from 10am until 5pm. There will be live music and beautiful orchid displays. The event is free with Garden Admission (adults $6, Seniors $4, Students $4, kids 4-12 $2 and kids 3 and under free). The event takes place at the Queens Botanical Garden.
