Community Events
- Making Komics with Kids: Professional cartoonist and writer-in-residence at Carmine St. Comics, Pat Reilly, will host an event teaching kids of all age about making cartoons. The event takes place at QED on April 14th from noon until 2pm. QED is located at 27-16 23rd Avenue. You will need to RSVP and admission is $10. - Cinderblock Comedy Festival:
- Hooks and Luxe Jewelry Pop Up Shop: On April 15th The Brass Owl will be hosting a Hooks and Luxe Jewelry Pop Up Shop, featuring the works of jewelry artist Ryoko Kitazawa including bracelets and necklaces. The event is free and takes place from noon until 5pm. There will be mimosas and refreshments available. You can call 347-848-0905 for more details.
- Kids Spring Break Activities: Children can enjoy fun spring break activities at the Queens Botanical Garden on April 14th from 1pm until 4pm. Kids can visit the exploration station, enjoy a scavenger hunt, and see the upcoming garden activities for kids. The event is free with garden admission: adults $6, students with ID and seniors $4, kids 4 to 12 $2, and kids three and under are free (as are Queens Botanical Garden Members). The garden is located at 43-50 Main Flushing Street and you can call 718-886-3800.
