Enjoying the cooler weather? October is finally here and with it comes a host of fun festivals and activities. Community Events
- Family Fun Run/Walk: Girls Incorporated of New York will be hosting a 5k family fun run and walk on October 1st from 10am until 2pm. There are group rates available for just $50 for three to five people. All proceeds will benefit under privileged youth in Astoria. For more details, you can visit girlsincnyc.org or email [email protected]. The run will start in Astoria Park and span all five boroughs.
- Fall Crawl: On October 8th at 7:30pm Bar Crawl N’ Stuff will be hosting an Astoria-wide bar crawl. Admission is $3 and each stop includes a free drink. The event will last until 3am on October 9th. You can find our more details by calling 631-813-8127 or emailing [email protected]. All admission money gathered will be donated to local animal shelters. You can have a great time, meet new people, and support a great cause.
- Terrarium Nite: On Tuesday, October 4th you can take an adult terrarium class, where with a professional instructor’s help, you build a unique terrarium. Admission is $50 and includes materials, and there is also a $10 fee for snacks and wine. You will also be given instructions caring for the terrarium and a gift box. The class will be located at 23-07 24th Avenue and takes place from 6pm until 7pm. A unique and fun way to spend an evening!
