Do you need a crown or filling to fix your tooth?

When Should You See A Dentist?

If you notice any sudden discomfort, such as tooth sensitivity to hot or cold foods/drinks or a persistent toothache, then you should see a dentist. These could be the warning signs of an issue that requires treatment, such as a cavity. In addition, if you chip a tooth or notice a fracture, you need to see the dentist to discuss treatment options. Otherwise, there’s a chance the tooth could develop decay or possibly an infection, which threatens the tooth’s stability.

Dental Crowns

A crown is a restoration that completely covers the visible portion of the tooth. We use ceramic to create custom-made dental restorations that look completely natural. We use the restoration to address a number of serious oral health concerns, including:

  • Decayed teeth
  • Chipped or cracked teeth
  • Missing teeth (restoring implants/anchoring dental bridges)
  • Infections (completing a root canal procedure)

Placement typically takes about two visits.

Dental Fillings

While the above restoration addresses multiple issues, a filling is typically limited only to cavities. The material is added to the tooth to fill a cavity and prevent the issue from worsening and leading to an infection. We use a composite resin to create metal-free and natural looking restoration. The entire procedure can be completed in a single visit. If you have any questions about dental crowns or dental fillings then please contact our office today. We want to help our patients obtain healthy and beautiful smiles.
