Did you know that you have access to an exceptional variety of restorative dentistry treatments to repair your smile when something goes wrong? While you may already feel certain that we are ready to help you when you need it most, you may not have a solid handle on what to expect from each treatment – or which service is right for your particular concern. Fortunately, by learning a bit more about restorative care solutions, you can gain a general understanding of what you can look forward to when you visit us to restore your oral health.
Dental Fillings
A dental filling is a restorative dentistry treatment that addresses tooth decay. We will remove the decayed tissue from the opening in your tooth – called a cavity – after numbing the affected tooth and nearby tissues. We will then fill the space with composite or amalgam, depending on your particular needs, to restore your tooth’s health and structure.
Dental Crowns
A crown offers full coverage to a damaged tooth. Custom-crafted to match the dimensions and shade of your smile, a dental crown is a hollow, artificial tooth. After treating the damaged tooth, we will then bond the crown over it for long-term structural support and protection.
Root Canal Treatment
When we diagnose you with an infected tooth, it means that your dental pulp is infected. Your pulp is the tissue that exists within your roots – the lowest channels of your teeth. Within pulp live nerves and blood vessels that keep your tooth living and healthy. To save your tooth from an extraction, root canal treatment removes the pulp, clears the infection, and keeps your tooth in your smile.
Dental Extractions
In the case that other restorative dentistry treatments like fillings, crowns, or root canal treatments cannot save your tooth, we will remove it with a dental extraction. Tooth removal will protect your overall oral health when your tooth becomes too problematic for treatment.
