Improving Your Smile with ClearCorrect

For many people, uneven teeth can lead to embarrassment. Some even go as far as avoiding pictures or smiling altogether. While orthodontic treatment can improve alignment, many adults and teens are hesitant to endure up to two years of metal braces. Fortunately, an esthetically pleasing alternative exists with the unique ClearCorrect system.

How Does Misalignments Impact My Smile?

To avoid common dental health problems such as tooth decay and gum disease, we need to brush your teeth and floss regularly. However, crooked or crowded teeth make proper brushing and flossing difficult, providing hiding places for stray food particles and harmful oral bacteria. Malocclusion also places inordinate pressure on your jaw joints, which can lead to teeth grinding (also known as bruxism) and TMJ disorder. Addressing your misalignment can boost the appearance and the overall health of your smile.

What is ClearCorrect?

Traditional braces use metal brackets and arch wires to reposition the teeth. The dentist simply adjusts the tension to gradually move the teeth to an optimal setting. While this works, many people are hesitant to wear metal braces. ClearCorrect uses a series of BPA-free clear plastic aligners. The patient wears the aligners for between 20 and 22 hour a day. About every two weeks, patients will upgrade to a new set of clear aligners as their teeth are slowly corrected. The entire treatment process usually takes about a year.

What are the Benefits of Clear Braces?

With this innovative orthodontic system, you can remove the aligners before meals. This means patients no longer need to change their diet, as food can’t become stuck or damage their braces. Removable aligners also make thorough brushing and flossing easier throughout treatment, reducing your risk of tooth decay, discoloration, or periodontal disease. Finally, this system is considered more comfortable as patients report a reduction in the discomfort associated with metal braces.
