leibowitz clearcorrectFor many people, misalignment is a hindrance to the health and appearance of their smiles. In order to enjoy optimal oral health and a beautiful smile, patients need orthodontic treatment. If you have an uneven smile we can discuss options for correcting the issue, including ClearCorrect invisible braces.

How Does Misalignment Impact Oral Health?

An uneven smile can actually lead to a higher risk of oral health complications. For example, an uneven smile makes thorough brushing and flossing difficult. This alone can increase the risk of tooth decay and periodontal disease. In addition, the strain misalignment can place on the jaw joints increases the risk of TMJ disorder and bruxism developing. Fortunately, we can help improve your smile with orthodontic treatment.

What is ClearCorrect?

ClearCorrect uses a series of clear plastic aligners instead of metal braces. The aligners are custom-made from impressions, x-rays, and photographs to ensure a comfortable fit. Patients wear the aligners everyday, typically between 20 and 23 hours per day, removing them only for meals or when brushing/flossing the teeth. Unlike braces, ClearCorrect doesn’t require you to change your diet or avoid certain foods. About once every two weeks patients upgrade to a new set as their teeth are gradually and gently moved to optimal positions. Total treatment time takes between a year and 18 months, depending on the severity of your alignment issues. Both adults and older teens can qualify for treatment.

Do I Qualify for Invisible Braces?

We usually recommend treatment for patients with minor misalignment. Candidates should also be over the age of 16. We will examine your teeth and jaw to make sure this is the best option for correcting your smile.
