Celebrate Halloween in Astoria

leibowitzfallWe like to occasionally use our blog to remind our patients about all the fun and excitement happening in our community. Astoria is a beautiful and unique city with something for everyone. With the weather cooling and Halloween approaching, there are a lot of fun and spooky events happening for the entire family. Don’t forget to also schedule a checkup with Dr. Leibowitz, especially with Halloween right around the corner.

Fall Events in Astoria, NY

Pumpkin Etching Class: QED will be hosting a Pumpkin Etching Class on October 17th from noon until 3pm. Adam Bierton will teach unique techniques to create amazing pumpkin carvings. Admission includes pumpkin and etching tools. Space is limited so you will need to register beforehand. All skill levels are welcome to attend and you will be able to keep your pumpkin afterward.

Free Halloween Harvest Festival: On October 24th from 11am until 3pm you and the entire family can enjoy a Free Halloween Harvest Festival at the Socrates Sculpture Park. You can make your own costumes, hear live music, attend a free Style Arts Association workshop, have your face painted, and enjoy foods from local restaurants. There will even be a costume contest for dogs. Admission is free and the entire family is welcome to attend.

Haunted History: At QED’s latest Haunting Histories and Legends of Astoria event will look at the life and untimely death of Rudolph Valentino. Storyteller Marie Carter will discuss major events in the actor’s career, as well as the stories of his spirit haunting Astoria. The event takes place on October 25th from 1:30pm until 2:30pm at QED. Celebrate Halloween with this spooky event!

Fall Family Festival: The Long Island YMCA will be hosting the Fall Family Festival on October 30th from 6pm until 8pm. The event will be located at the Long Island YMCA at 32-23 Queens Blvd. There will be fun activities for the entire family.
