  3. True or False: Placement takes two visits.

Answer Key

  1. True. The crowns, also known as abutments, will be placed on the natural teeth on each side of the gap in your smile. We prepare the teeth beforehand by removing a small amount of tooth structure. The restorations then anchor the pontics, or replacement teeth, firmly in place.
  2. True. Prior to fabrication, we will take detailed impressions of your smile. At a dental lab, the impressions will be used to design and create the prosthetic using lifelike materials. We want your new teeth to look natural and blend with the rest of your smile.
  3. True. During the first visit, we prepare the teeth and take detailed impressions. In the next visit, we place the completed prosthetic. In just two visits you can once again enjoy a healthy and complete smile.
  4. True. You should brush the bridge twice a day and floss around it once a day. We also suggest flossing in the space between the prosthetic and your gum to ensure a long lasing prosthetic while also protecting your gum health.
